There are some glorious thoughts that go through ones mind that really just create a warm glow. Some may be dirty, others nice and pure but they are always enjoyable. My thought that is keeping me smiling is that Kenneth Brannagh’s Thor will finally go in front of the camera this Friday. According to one of our sources the battle for Earth and Asgard will start this Friday. I know most of you think that is cool but for me this can only be summarised by going to the surfing vernacular AWESOME.
So this Friday off in Raliegh studios there is an Australian dressed like a Norse god swinging a big ass hammer. Well maybe not, maybe it is just small sequences but there is no harm in dreaming. This will also be the start or end of some careers with Kenneth Brannagh and Chris Hemsworth out to prove their places in the big leagues. With a huge budget and an even larger concept to put onscreen this will be a film that could reach for greatness. From the new we have heard from the production we know that it seems to be definitely on track with writer Ashley Miller promising "Rage" and a cast of talent that can only be described be Keanu Reeves with Whoa. So be prepared fans as it has started and soon more news will come from the set with more details on Marvel’s next gamble.
Thor will follow the Norse god as he is punished by his father Odin and sent to live in the body of a crippled human named Dr Donald Blake. Whilst this is happening there is trouble back in the home of the gods, Asgard, as Thor’s brother Loki schemes to bring about the fall of the gods called Ragnorak. The films headliners are Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Rene Russo as Thor’s Mum, Natalie Portman as Love interest Jane foster, Stellen Skarsgard as the Norse history professor with Kenneth Brannagh directing. Now with the latest news that the Thor release will be pushed up two weeks to take the May 6th 2011 spot off the troubled Spiderman project shows how much faith they have in the film. Now that is ambitious!!! All of this is so good. So damn good
