When do we return to Middle Earth?
The Hobbit sequels release dates and names
It has been far too long since I set foot in the shire. All I have is the memories of it. True I do have the bluray extended collection but nothing will ever match the first moments I sat in the theatre with my oldest brother on Boxing day many years ago. When the screen opened with Cate Blanchett’s narration of the war of the rings. Watching Hugo Weaving leading the Elven charge against the forces of the Dark Lord and it wasn’t bloody Voldermort. I cannot wait to enter this world again. To be immersed in a fantasy world of orcs ,wizards and of course Hobbits.
Our latest news to hit the net is that we now have some dates upon which to hang our hopes on. This gives us all a good amount of time to revisit our collections be it books, dvds, blurays or even just fan memorabilia. I am stupidly excited for this journey to start again and here is the exact dates and names of the newest trilogy in the world of Middle Earth.
• The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will open on December 14th, 2012.
• The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will open December 13th, 2013.
• The Hobbit: There and Back Again will open July 18th, 2014.
Can you see the glaring difference in these release dates? This is exciting as the third film will be released only months after the second film gloriously titled The Desolation of Smaug. Collider have a quote for Danny Fellman from Warner Bros and he said this about the closer release dates “We wanted to have a shorter gap between the second and third films of The Hobbit Trilogy. Opening in July affords us not only the perfect summer tentpole, but fans will have less time to wait for the finale of this epic adventure.”
I couldn’t agree more!!
