Hey Fools! biggeoff here, I've just finished talking with the man himself, Tim Boyle, check out what he had to say regarding Phantom Legacy. I asked if the talk was true about the script, where production was at and if Boyle himself would be directing the film.
Hi Geoff,
Here's the low down. Yes there is a script. It has been approved by the Comic Studio and everybody seems extremely excited by where I'm taking the film.
I'm currently working through a new draft which should be finished no later than mid Jan.
As far as Directing goes, although it seems likely that this will eventuate (and obviously I hope it to be the case) I have not signed on as Director yet (only as writer). Hopefully this will happen - but obviously a film with this sort of budget takes a lot of negotiation. To be honest though, my main concern at the moment is getting it right at the screenplay level. The rest I hope will follow suit.

According to the West Newspaper Australian production company Sherlock Symington Productions has gained the rights to do another Phantom. Now we may all remember the Billy Zane Version and some may smile whilst others may cringe. I myself haven't watched the full version buit have read the Phantom comicstrip for years and think it has great potential. Especially when it come to storyline and the legacy of the Phantom. I like the idea of it and how it is passed down from generation to generation. Almost like Zorro. Imagin a mad dark jungle Phantom. Heaps cool. Producer of the first and this upcoming one Bruce Sherlock has stated “I, frankly, think that’s what was missing in the first Phantom - we had a very limited budget,” he also added .“It’s a better budget this time and also I just feel very comfortable with the script.I think we did it okay before, but I really, honestly, feel we can do it better. A lot better.”. The film will bebeing written by Tim"The Plex" Boyle who is also tapped to direct. I say bring in Sam Worthington and smash it out of the park. For the full story go here
